About Eleni Pappa Tsantilis

My artistic journey began with a simple fascination for colours and the narratives they can convey. I have always been captivated by the way hues interact and the stories that emerge from their interplay. Each piece I create reflects my desire to explore the dynamic relationship between colours and the diverse materials that shape them.

Over the years, I have continuously experimented with a wide range of artistic mediums. Beginning with acrylics, then moving on to oils and various mixed media, I have always sought to challenge myself and discover new ways for creative expression. This process of experimentation has become a cornerstone of my practice, ensuring that each work is infused with freshness and a spirit of discovery.
For me, art is an ongoing journey—one that is both exciting and transformative. I am deeply grateful for every step along the way, recognising that each piece I create stands as a testament to the myriad colours of my life.
Each artwork not only marks a stage in my personal evolution but also serves as a bridge for conversation and connection with others.
Refusing to confine myself to a single medium, I incorporate an array of materials into my work—some conventional, others not. I often include natural pigments and organic elements such as paper, textiles, sand, and sawdust, materials that may initially seem unrelated to the traditional pictorial world. By doing so, I break down the barriers between art and daily life, creating pieces that are both evocative and accessible.
My process is deeply tactile and experimental. I apply colour using brushes, knives, handmade squeegees, sponges, or even my hands. Once the paint is on the surface, I drag and scrape through layers of wet or dry paint, leaving distinctive marks behind. That gives a nice “used” effect and creates the story of the work.
My goal is to continue working with the same passion I have always had, exploring new ideas and creating works that inspire people and help them see things from a different perspective.

My works are in private collections all over the world.

I have exhibited internationally in several solo and group exhibitions.

Το καλλιτεχνικό μου ταξίδι ξεκίνησε με μια απλή γοητεία για τα χρώματα και τις αφηγήσεις που μπορούν να μεταφέρουν. Πάντα με γοήτευε ο τρόπος που οι αποχρώσεις αλληλεπιδρούν και οι ιστορίες που προκύπτουν από την αλληλεπίδρασή τους. Κάθε έργο που δημιουργώ αντανακλά την επιθυμία μου να εξερευνήσω τη δυναμική σχέση μεταξύ των χρωμάτων και των ποικίλων υλικών που τα διαμορφώνουν. Με τα χρόνια, έχω πειραματιστεί συνεχώς με ένα ευρύ φάσμα καλλιτεχνικών μέσων. Ξεκινώντας με ακρυλικά και προχωρώντας σε λάδια και διάφορα μικτά μέσα, πάντα προσπαθούσα να αμφισβητώ τον εαυτό μου και να ανακαλύπτω νέους τρόπους δημιουργικής έκφρασης. Αυτή η διαδικασία πειραματισμού έχει γίνει ακρογωνιαίος λίθος της πρακτικής μου, διασφαλίζοντας ότι κάθε έργο είναι εμποτισμένο με φρεσκάδα και πνεύμα ανακάλυψης. Για μένα, η τέχνη είναι ένα συνεχές ταξίδι - ένα ταξίδι που είναι ταυτόχρονα συναρπαστικό και μεταμορφωτικό. Είμαι βαθιά ευγνώμων για κάθε βήμα στην πορεία, αναγνωρίζοντας ότι κάθε έργο που δημιουργώ αποτελεί απόδειξη των μυριάδων χρωμάτων της ζωής μου. Κάθε έργο όχι μόνο σηματοδοτεί ένα στάδιο στην προσωπική μου εξέλιξη, αλλά χρησιμεύει και ως γέφυρα για συζήτηση και σύνδεση με τους άλλους. Αρνούμενη να περιοριστώ σε ένα μόνο μέσο, ενσωματώνω μια σειρά από υλικά στο έργο μου - κάποια συμβατικά, άλλα όχι. Συχνά συμπεριλαμβάνω φυσικές χρωστικές ουσίες και οργανικά στοιχεία όπως χαρτί, υφάσματα, άμμο και πριονίδι, υλικά που αρχικά μπορεί να φαίνονται άσχετα με τον παραδοσιακό εικαστικό κόσμο. Με αυτόν τον τρόπο, καταρρίπτω τα εμπόδια μεταξύ τέχνης και καθημερινής ζωής.ημιουργώντας έργα που είναι ταυτόχρονα υποβλητικά και προσιτά. Η διαδικασία μου είναι βαθιά απτή και πειραματική. Εφαρμόζω χρώμα χρησιμοποιώντας πινέλα, μαχαίρια, χειροποίητες σπάτουλες, σφουγγάρια ή ακόμα και τα χέρια μου. Μόλις το χρώμα βρεθεί στην επιφάνεια, σέρνω και ξύνω στρώματα υγρής ή στεγνής μπογιάς, αφήνοντας διακριτικά σημάδια. Αυτό δίνει ένα ωραίο «χρησιμοποιημένο» εφέ και δημιουργεί την ιστορία του έργου. Ο στόχος μου είναι να συνεχίσω να εργάζομαι με το ίδιο πάθος που είχα πάντα, εξερευνώντας νέες ιδέες και δημιουργώντας έργα που εμπνέουν τους ανθρώπους και τους βοηθούν να βλέπουν τα πράγματα από μια διαφορετική οπτική γωνία. Τα έργα μου βρίσκονται σε ιδιωτικές συλλογές σε όλο τον κόσμο. Έχω εκθέσει διεθνώς σε αρκετές ατομικές και ομαδικές εκθέσεις.

Mon parcours artistique a débuté par une simple fascination pour les couleurs et les récits qu'elles peuvent raconter. J'ai toujours été captivée par l'interaction des teintes et les histoires qui émergent de leurs jeux. Chaque œuvre que je crée reflète mon désir d'explorer la relation dynamique entre les couleurs et la diversité des matériaux qui les composent. Au fil des années, j'ai expérimenté sans cesse avec une large gamme de médiums artistiques. De l'acrylique à l'huile en passant par diverses techniques mixtes, j'ai toujours cherché à me dépasser et à découvrir de nouvelles formes d'expression créative. Ce processus d'expérimentation est devenu la pierre angulaire de ma pratique, garantissant à chaque œuvre une fraîcheur et un esprit de découverte. Pour moi, l'art est un voyage continu, à la fois passionnant et transformateur. Je suis profondément reconnaissante de chaque étape franchie, consciente que chaque œuvre témoigne de la richesse et de la diversité de ma vie. Chaque œuvre marque non seulement une étape de mon évolution personnelle, mais sert également de pont pour le dialogue et le partage avec autrui. Refusant de me limiter à un seul médium, j'intègre à mon travail une variété de matériaux, certains conventionnels, d'autres non. J'utilise souvent des pigments naturels et des éléments organiques tels que le papier, les textiles, le sable et la sciure de bois, des matériaux qui peuvent sembler de prime abord étrangers à l'univers pictural traditionnel. Ce faisant, j'abolis les frontières entre l'art et le quotidien, créant des œuvres à la fois évocatrices et accessibles. Ma démarche est profondément tactile et expérimentale. J'applique la couleur à l'aide de pinceaux, de couteaux, de raclettes artisanales, d'éponges, ou même de mes mains. Une fois la peinture déposée sur la surface, je la travaille en la raclant et en la frottant, laissant des marques distinctives. Cela confère un bel effet « usé » et raconte l'histoire de l'œuvre. Mon objectif est de continuer à travailler avec la même passion qui m'anime depuis toujours, d'explorer de nouvelles idées et de créer des œuvres qui inspirent et invitent à porter un regard différent sur le monde. Mes œuvres figurent dans des collections privées du monde entier. J'ai exposé à l'international lors de plusieurs expositions individuelles et collectives.
